Finding your ideal dose of CBD

“How much CBD oil should I use?” New CBD users often ask this question. However, finding your ideal dose of CBD varies for everyone.

When it comes to finding the perfect dose of CBD, there is no one size fits all approach. What works for you personally may be a completely different dose for someone else.

Determining how much CBD to use is more an art than a science. It takes time and effort to find your favorite spot, and even then, you may need to adjust your dose periodically to adapt to your ever-changing schedule, mood and environment.

The CBD dosing is a very individual process.

Determining the best dose of CBD generally depends on the following factors:

Concentration: Concentration or strength refers to the total amount of CBD in a particular product. The concentration is measured in milligrams (mg) per millimeter (ml) of oil. This differs from the dose, which indicates the amount of CBD per serving.

Body weight: A person’s body weight often plays a role in how CBD affects their body and how much CBD to use individually. In general, heavier people may need a higher dose to experience the calming effects of CBD. In lighter people, the same effects may occur with a lower dose.

Desired effects: For many, the optimal dose depends on the amount of pain or discomfort they feel. A person with chronic pain or severe anxiety may need a higher dose to relieve their symptoms, while a person with a milder condition may prefer a lower dose for slightly lesser effects. Thus, finding their ideal dose of CBD depends on their desired effects.

Tolerance: dedicated users can develop tolerance to CBD over time. This can lead to reduced effects at the same dose, so that higher consecutive doses may be required to achieve the same desired results.

Getting Started

With these facts in mind, most newcomers to the world of CBD are advised to start with the lowest recommended dose and gradually increase the dose until they find the ideal dose of CBD for them.

Try 5-10 drops of CBD oil first. Wait for the CBD to peak and exit your system before attempting a slightly higher dose, approximately 4 hours for CBD oil. You can take it faster, but all the effects you experience are the cumulative result of the two doses.

TIPS TO HELP YOU FIND THE IDEAL DOSE OF CBD

Consistency is crucial: use your CBD oil constantly; Take the same amount at the same time each day.

Follow a routine: take this dose within the first 4 to 6 weeks, as it may take a while to notice the changes.

Write about this: keep a diary to follow the dose and effects. This will help you understand what dose of CBD oil is right for you.

Dosage at night: a possible side effect of CBD oil is drowsiness. Therefore, it is better to start dosing at night.

As with any new dietary supplement or lifestyle change, you should consult your doctor or health professional before including CBD in your well-being, and then determine how much CBD to use.

Different types of doses of CBD:
CBD generally follows three dose ranges. Smaller doses can stimulate the body, while larger doses can calm it.

Micro dosage: Microdosing or taking extremely low doses of medications has stormed the world. CBD has a microdose between 0.5 mg and 20 mg. *

Standard dosage: a standard dose is generally between 10 and 100 mg of CBD per day. *

Macro dosage: Macro dose are very large dose with a wide range, which we only suggest in very specific circumstances. Ask your doctor about the macro dose of CBD, a dose of 100 mg to 800 mg per day. *

How to use your CBD oil

Sublingual
Taking sublingual CBD oil (under the tongue) is a fairly simple process. CBD can be directly absorbed from areas rich in capillaries under the tongue, along the gums and cheeks in the bloodstream. From there, the metabolism of the first phase is avoided and transferred directly to the entire body.

Shake well before use
Fill the pipette to the desired amount
Place the CBD oil directly under the tongue. Hold for 30 to 45 seconds and then swallow.

This pathway brings CBD into the bloodstream faster than swallowing. However, since the CBD oils are eventually swallowed, the maximum blood levels range are between 0.5 and 5 hours.

During this time you can increase the absorption by stirring the CBD oil around your mouth and even between your teeth. This increases the surface contact between the oil and your capillaries.

Swallowing the CBD
Oral ingesting of CBD is the slowest way for the compound to achieve its goals, but it is also the longest period that remains active. When CBD is taken, it passes through the digestive tract, where it is absorbed into the bloodstream and travels throughout the body. Maximum blood levels are given between 1 and 6 hours, making this method the best long-term supplementation method.

Topical
Topical CBD spreads through the skin and achieves local goals such as muscles, inflammatory cells and nerves that feel pain. Very little or none enters the bloodstream unless it is designed for transdermal activity.

Topical are ideal for on the spot treatment and stimulation. But for long-term health goals, people often see the best results when they combine topical CBD with oral products.

Be creative!
Food influences the body’s ability to absorb CBD and more cannabinoids are absorbed on an full stomach. CBD is soluble in fat. So eating a healthy dose of fat can increase the amount of CBD that enters your bloodstream. Finding the ideal dose of CBD varies depending on your food intake.

What should you pay attention to when dosing CBD?

To determine how much CBD to use, it is important to find the right product. While some prefer CBD capsules or CBD globules, others depend on CBD oil. Capsules and globules containing CBD are of course relatively easy to take, and if you follow the manufacturer’s instructions, you cannot go wrong. It is slightly different with CBD oil or CBD powder. That is why beginners in particular are advised to use CBD capsules or products that have been dosed earlier.

Tips for dosing CBD oil

Anyone who has opted for CBD should note a few important things. Although CBD generally has no side effects, reactions can still occur if the dose is too high. People who are already taking medication should also clarify with a doctor whether there is a risk of interactions.

Otherwise, start taking small doses and you’ll eventually find your ideal dose of CBD. It is recommended to start with 5% CBD oil. In the morning and evening, 5 drops should be placed under the tongue twice a day. If you want to start with 10% CBD oil, you should reduce the dose to 2 to 3 drops in the morning and evening. This should be done about a week before the dose is increased.

If you tolerate CBD oil well, the dose can be increased slightly after less than a week if the symptoms do not improve. Once symptoms improve, the dose can be maintained or increased slightly if you want even better results.

Can CBD oil be overdosed?

Yes and no, of course you can take too much CBD. However, this is not a problem. As a rule, you may be very tired. In fact, CBD has a relaxing effect and the high dose relaxes the body and makes you tired. But we recommend taking small steps to find your ideal dose of CBD.

There are no real side effects or even an overdose of CBD. The only side effect that can be considered positive or negative is that CBD limits appetite. This means that people with eating disorders should avoid CBD or better take a cannabis-based medication because THC stimulates appetite.
