Cannabidiol (CBD) products are fairly new to the health care market, having only been legal for a short time. Therefore, there are many frequently asked questions about the effectiveness of CBD, how to take or use these products, and the effect of CBD on the body. We have compiled a list of the most common CBD questions along with answers from our CBD experts to help shed some light on the subject and answer your CBD FAQs.

How do I use CBD Products?

Most CBD products are taken orally via drops that are placed under the tongue and held for 30 to 60 seconds before they are either absorbed by the body or swallowed. Topical lotions, creams, balms, salves, and ointments are also effective, especially for those with targeted pain such as sore muscles, achy joints, or injury-related pain.

Does CBD Get You High?

The short answer is no, with the explanation that because CBD is 100% non-psychoactive, it has no intoxicating effect on the brain, meaning that your mental processes are not negatively affected. There is a psychoactive compound found in cannabis called THC, but there is no THC in CBD; they are totally separate elements of the cannabis plant. CBD is found mainly in the parts of the cannabis plant that do not get smoked, like the stem and seeds. Most CBD comes from industrial hemp, a plant which contains abundant CBD and almost zero THC. Marijuana and hemp are two different varieties of cannabis; for a hemp plant to be considered “marijuana” it would need to contain more than 0.3% of THC. All CBD products are required dto contain less than 0.3% THC in order to be legal according to Federal Law. Hemp is used for a variety of products beyond the medical field, such as clothing, rope, and several industrial uses, as it is one of the strongest fibers known to man.

How will i know it's working?

CBD has been shown both by legitimate clinical research and anecdotal evidence to help with various ailments and their symptoms, including a reduction in anxiety, stress, pain, discomfort, inflammation, insomnia, nausea, and other symptoms of disease. Cannabidiol is a healthy, all-natural alternative to prescription drugs or over the counter remedies.

For most people, the correct amount of CBD to take comes down to the amount needed to achieve relief from pain, discomfort, or other symptoms they are experiencing. You cannot overdose on CBD, so if a single dropperful of CBD oil is not giving you the relief you need, you can increase your serving size and/ or frequency to achieve optimal results. If you are using a topical CBD product, you can apply it to the point of pain several times a day as needed for relief.
